There are many ways to honor 9/11 around your community and across the nation, including volunteer projects, moments of silence, 5K memorial runs and stair climbs.
Learn more about how you can commemorate 9/11 here.
Moments of Silence:
Join the 9/11 Memorial in honoring the victims of 9/11 by observing moments of silence during the commemoration ceremony.
Stair Climbs:
Across the nation, you can honor the 343 first responders who gave their lives to help others on 9/11 by climbing 110 stories – the equivalent of the highest point of the World Trade Center. According to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, which sponsors the stair climbs, the event not only honors the memories of first responders who died that day but also symbolizes the completion of their heroic journeys to save others.
Find a stair climb event near you and learn more about how you can host a stair climb. Proceeds go to the foundation to help support fire service survivors.
9/11 Heroes Run:
The Travis Manion Foundation sponsors 9/11 Heroes Runs across the nation. They aim to honor the sacrifices of veteran, first responder, civilian and military heroes of 9/11 and the wars that began in the aftermath. Many of the runs take place throughout the first half of September. Find event locations and register online.
All age groups are welcome. Much of the funds raised support local veterans, first responders, troops and military families, with the remainder supporting the Travis Manion Foundation.

There are many opportunities to volunteer in honor of 9/11. Visit www.911day.org/volunteer for more information.
